We have many options like Bus, Mini Van, Train.The best options are Bus/mini van. There are many buses or mini vans starting from Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) at least for every 30 mins. The mini vans start as and when it gets fully occupied. I remember it was 100 THB per person for mini van.
Journey time : 2.30 hrs to 3.00 hrs depends on traffic. Buses and Mini vans go to Kanchanaburi bus station.
Trip Details to Kanchanaburi:-
=========> Day 1
Well, finally we reached Kanchanaburi around 4PM. We pre-booked a hotel on Booking.com. The hotel was around 10 mins walk from bus station. Which was a budget hotel, And the hotel guy helped me to rent a motor bike for 250 THB/day which included pickup from and drop to hotel.
So It was already 6PM by the time I got the motor bike. So we decided to not to go any where far. Hotel lady suggested us to go to the nearest night market, which is opposite to the bus station. The market was big. There we did some shopping and had some food out side (Thai food) and went back to hotel.
=========> Day 2
We started very early in the morning to visit as many attractions as possible.
So, we head towards Wat Ban Tham Kanchanaburi.
1) Wat Ban Tham:- (Time spent:- 1.5Hrs)
It is a cave temple. Not many people there. This temple has a long staircase, in between you walk through a dragon face. Take your own time to walk though staircase. And once you reach and see Buddha you will get all the energy you lost all the way reaching up there. You can still go up from there, if you want to to get some nice views. But we turned back. Suggested only if you are energetic to reach the cave.

2) Wat Tham Sua:- (Time spent:- 1Hr)
Wat Tham Sua or Tiger Cave Temple is Thai style temple located on small hill. The temple has an option of an escalator which takes to the top of the hill for 15 or 20 THB. But this is not a very long stair case, we can easily go to the top. Very nice Buddha and nice views. A must visit place in Kanchanaburi.
3) Wang Cemetry Park:-
Wang Cemetry Park is on the way to the Wat Ban Tham or Wat Tham Sua. It has nothing to spend much time. You can just take photos for the scenery and spend 5-15 mins.
After this, we head back to Kanchanaburi city and Had lunch. Post lunch, we went to Death railway bridge. It was very hot on that day, I felt like I was on Ghost riders bike.
4) Death railway Bridge:-
The bridge is on the river Kwai.
We spent around 30 mins to walk on the bridge and to see the surrounding views. There were many food and drink options over there.
5) Wat thewa sangkharam:-
It is an optional only if you have time. We went there just to relax, because the temple is just next to the river. So by the time we reach wat thewa sangkharam it was a bit cloudy. So we wanted to enjoy the cool breeze. We thought there was nothing to visit, but still it was a worth visit for the temple and the location.
In the night we went to another night market for food and shopping.
=========> Day 3
We checked out the hotel. And Hotel lady dropped us at Bus station, so kind of her. Next towards,..
Erawan National Park - Waterfalls.
How to go Erawan Water falls
How to go there:- Take bus it is the best option. Because it is very far from Kanchanaburi. I think it is around 60km. So go to bus station, I think every hour there will be a bus to Erawan national park from Kanchanaburi bus station. Bus fare is 50THBSo, finally after a journey of more than 1 hr we were at national park entrance, where the bus will be stopped to get the national park entrance tickets. And you will be dropped at point from there we have to walk to the waterfall. I remember it is around 800 meters for the first level.
The Erawan waterfall has 7 levels. We went till 4th level. Level 2,3,4 are good to spend some time.
And the waterfall is amazing.
And you should walk back to the point to catch the bus back to Kanchanaburi.
Thats all friends, We head back to Bangkok from Kanchanaburi. It is all from my personal experience only.
