What to do in HuaHin, Weekend trip details
HuaHin is a beach side attraction in the southern Thailand. HuaHin is in Prachuap Khiri Khan province of Thailand. It used to be a summer vacation destination for Thai Royal Family. I felt HuaHin is calm and relaxed, very good weekend destination for family trips. HuaHin is located at a distance of ~200 km from bangkok. And one can go to HuaHin easily using either personal transportation or public transport.
How to go to HuaHin from Bangkok
I have already written on How to go to Hua Hin from Bangkok using public transport. I would suggest to read the article How to go to Hua Hin using public transportWhere to stay in Hua Hin
Hua His is great town which can accommodate all levels of tourists. So whether you are looking for budget level or luxurious hotels, Hua Hin has it for you. Hua Hin has different kinds of accommodation which includes beach front resorts, villas, 5 star, 4 star hotels, Budget hotels and hostels,.etc.. You can have your stay starting from 300 THB. I stayed at a hotel Ansu Guest House, which I have reserved on Booking.com. It is just 10 mins walk from Hua Hin beach, and 5 min walk to Railway station and Night markets. The hotel also provides motor bike for rent, which is very essential for budget travellers like me.My trip to Hua Hin is a week end trip. its a 2 day trip to Hua Hin from Bangkok. So by the time we reach Hua Hin it was already 2PM. So we just had lunch and just wanted to roam around. So we planned to cover near by attractions.

Hua Hin Railway station
Hua His railway station is located very near to the city. The main attraction of the railway station is the Royal Thai waiting room. Which is very colourful. You can take some beautiful pictures.

Hau hin fishing pier
Hut Hin fishing pier is known for fishing related activities. The pier is extended into the sea, so you can get some good pictures. And it is a good view point. The surroundings have many sea food restaurants. In the morning time the fishing stuff goes on. I would suggest to go in the evening along with your fishing equipment and camera.Hua hin beach
What should I say about this beach? Hua hin beach is long stretched white sand beach. I found it crowded. The beach has activities like beach bike riding, horse riding. Beach bike riding 1500 THB for 1 hr. I don’t remember how much I have paid for horse riding. Pay 40THB and get a mat for rent, and sit for some time.
Hua Hin Night market
There was a night market near the Hua hin clock tower. So the night market is really big and has many things to do. Hua Hin night market is really exciting for me. There are lot of garment related stalls. Its time to drain your money. Yeah.. Night market has so many shopping things for cheap price. We had thai massage and fish massage by small fishes in the tank. And in the middle of the market a movie screen is there, I remember some Thai dubbed hollywood movie was screening. And many other things..

Wat Khao takiap
It is a temple located on a small hill. Yes, on a small hill so you need to hike a bit. Its not too much, but the stairs are a bit steep. You can see beautiful view once you reach the top. Be careful with monkeys on the way. They may grab your things, don’t show them any food stuff. There will be a temple and bells in the temple, get dressed well to enter the temple.Best way to reach Wat Khao takiap is by personal transportation. Rent a motorbike in Hua Hin, So that you can reach there easily. Because Wat Khao takiap is located a bit inside from main road.

Wat Tham Khao Tao
Wat Tham Khao Tao is another great temple, I liked it very much. Wat Tham Khao Tao is located a bit far from main road. So it needs arranged or personal vehicle. I would suggest to visit this if you are near by. The temple has a good architecture cave like structure. And it is located on the edge of the small hill. Once you reach inside you can see the beautiful beach. There will be a golden tortoise shrine and statue of mother earth. return

Rajbhakthi park
Rajbhakthi park is a themed park. Rajbhakthi park has 7 Bronze statues of Thailand kings. You can learn about the history of it, if you have guide. There is a big parking available. It is right next to main road.

Hau hin Forest park
Hau hin Forest park is located at around 20km from Hua Hin city. It has a pleasant beach and a mangrove into the forest. I would suggest to walk through the mangrove, it is very beautiful. And in between you can see the areal view of the mangrove. You should carry your camera to get fantastic insta and facebook pictures. It takes around 1 hr to cover the mangrove. And the beach here is very beautiful, but the beach has lot of small stone and shells. Its not crowded. I liked the road while going.

Use full tips for your Hua His week end trip:
> be careful with your return ticket, book your bus ticket in advance. else you will end up having no seats for the day to Bangkok. We faced the same issue. Luckily Mini vans are available for that day. Last mini van leaves to Bangkok is around 6.30PM. Mini van from Hua Hin drops you at chathuchak Bus station.> Plan in such way that you get in to 9 AM bus from Southern terminal Bangkok.
> Food options are less in some places. Better to buy some food when you are in city premises.
> Get full tank in your motor bike.
This is all my personal experience.
